I wanted to be able to compose new posts on my iPad Mini, but I didn’t really like the built-in graphical keyboard. It’s not really conducive to quick or accurate typing especially on a lengthy post.
I did a bit of research and came across the Zagg Bluetooth Keyboard for iPad Mini on Amazon. The reviews were good overall so I decided to give it a try.
It came securely packaged as most of Amazon’s items do. I unboxed it and briefly reviewed the instructions. Pretty simple.
I inserted the iPad Mini into the keyboard slot and flipped the “on” switch for the keyboard. I then went to the setting on my Ipad and turned on Bluetooth and searched for the keyboard. It found the keyboard quickly and paired easily. “Pairing” is basically just electronically connecting the iPad Mini to the Bluetooth keyboard. It enables you to be able to type on the keyboard and have it show up on the screen. It worked beautifully.
I composed this post while sitting on the couch with my iPad Mini and the Zagg Keyboard.
The keyboard has a backlight you can turn on to light up the keys if in a dark environment. You can choose from several colors and brightness settings.
The keyboard also comes with a USB cord to charge the keyboards battery. A full charge is estimated to last 3 months of normal use, which is estimated to be 2-3 hours per day. It takes 2-4 hours to complete a charge.
After a brief time using the keyboard, I can say that I am very satisfied.
I will update this review as I put more hours on the keyboard.
