We visited NYC a few years ago during mid-week. The city had roped off several blocks in the 6th Avenue area to prevent vehicle traffic. It reminded me of the block parties of my youth. Street vendors, every kind of fast food imaginable, hats, t-shirts, sweatshirts, you name it. It was fabulous!
I’m not sure how often they do that during summer in NYC, but we were glad to be able to experience it. We walked and walked, taking it all in. Ate too much food, bought a few needless souvenirs, but loved every minute of it. Of course each morning we had to visit the Today show. We love the atmosphere in the crowd outside of 30 Rock.
The Today show was having their annual bridal show, and we got to see Matt and Katie. We also visited the old Yankee Stadium, such a great place to see a ballgame. and the elevators to the upper sections made it senior friendly.
Hope you enjoy the pictures! I had trouble just picking a few, they all bring back such fond memories. I also included several pics of the iconic theatres and entertainment spots throughout the city.
Enjoy and happy travel!
