The highlight of our Beatles journey to Liverpool has to be our time spent with Phil, our tourguide with the Fab Four Taxi Tours.
We wanted a tour that would allow us to actually see and visit the various Beatles sights, not just drive by. I had read glowing reviews of the Fab Four Taxi Tours, and we are so happy we booked them.
Phil, our tour guide, was extremely knowledgable. He knew all the ins and outs of Liverpool, having lived there all his life. It was amazing how much knowledge he had, including little known tidbits about John, Paul, George and Ringo that only a local would know.
Phil picked us up at our hotel promptly at 2pm.
We paid for a 3 hour tour, but Phil spent almost 4 hours with us, and dropped us off at a location we chose so we could do some shopping before heading back to the hotel.
I have only included a few of the pictures I took on the tour. I will include more in future posts. But the pictures highlight a few wonderful experiences that Phil shared with us.
The pictures of “Ye Crack”, a pub that John Lennon frequented in his college days, illustrate Phil’s knowledge. He not only took us to the pub, but he introduced us to the owner, who invited us in for a tour. It was wonderful. A real glimpse into John’s life before he became famous. Phil made that experience possible.
When we went to Penny Lane, not only did Phil explain all of the various sites mentioned in the famous song, but in the picture of the Barber Shop, the gentleman in the photo is the actual “Firemen” mentioned in the song. He liked to keep his fire engine clean, It’s a clean machine!. We spoke with him a few moments. He was so proud of his city.
I can’t express our thanks enough to Phil and the Fab Four Taxi Tour guides, we even ran into another guide at Strawberry Field and we talked about the guitars and musical instruments we love that were inspired by the Beatles.
I’ll be posting other photos taken on the tour in future posts.
If you are ever in Liverpool, there is only one way to see it as it must be seen. You absolutely must take a Fab Four Taxi Tour.

I am not affiliated with Fab Four Taxi Tours in any way. I am just a satisfied customer. I cannot recommend them highly enough.
Tell Phil we said “Hi”!
